Not sure if it is rugs in the background or the top hat, but this picture has me thinking Water for Elephants. I mean that in such a good way. Even the subtle stripe in the pants is giving off the circus-train vibe. Only Ms Wasson could pull it off, obviously. I am going to have to give it a try I like that it is a more interesting take on the bohemian look

This is quite the change for me because I LOVE my skinny jeans and skinny pants; but I fell in love with these jeans from Free People and received them for my birthday.

I had to hop on board with this ever so populating trend. I know, I know I am a little late with joining in the fun, but sometimes animal print is so overdone. I just couldn't say no to these cheap-as-heck shoes. They were begging to be in my closet. Anyways want to know the selling point? My four year old said that he thought they were "AWESOME SHOES!" -that kid has great taste! Sold to the sucker of a mom who dresses to impress her kid.

::|::GARDEN PARTY::|::

We were frienemies for a while there but I am glad that dresses and I have decided to give it another go. Dresses aren't only for special occasions. I wore this to the park with my boys. "Not functional" you might say, but I disagree I even played baseball in it. From this day forward I will wear dresses even if I have no where special to go. You can't beat feeling fabulous at the park, making other moms jealous roll their eyes at you.

This outfit reminds me of Pocahontas, hence the title. Again, I am totally transitioning into Fall lately, even though the weather is only slightly cooler.
Sweater Wrap: Forever 21
Jeans: Madewell
Boots: Minnetonka
Tee: Husbands

I have always loved that blazers came in style but the school boy blazer is my absolute favorite. Woman in menswear is always my favorite type of look. It took me a while to branch out from short, shorts but I am starting to love the longer slouchy looks of shorts these days. These were old AG jeans that I had and I always loved how soft the fabric was, but I never wore them cause I didn't like the fit, so now they are shorts! The wash on this particular pair is wonderful.

I got some inspiration from my fashion counterpart Shaynah in this one. I should layer more often. But up to this point it has been 100 degrees outside.

I'm playing outfit-post-catch-up. I'll start with the most boring, and hopefully they will get better from here. I am feeling a bit "end-of-summer blah, and my outfits reflect that. Of course some of us have lives, and can't do a photoshoot once a day (shot by their 4-year-old). Hint hint Shaynah. Hahaha.

Surfer sweatshirt: Madewell (Everyone should own at least one sweatshirt of theirs)
Knit Shorts: Urban Outfitters

A breezy hot day. I am not much for flop-flops. This summer I have hardly worn any sandals. It is just too common in Minneapolis to default to plain flip flops. BORING! (on this day my mother loved my outfit)
