BRIGHT LIPS

I am thrilled to announce that snow has taken this year off and we have headed straight for spring. It's true- just ask GapKids and their new arrival of swimwear! Plus, it is almost like I am in Nashville with Liz with these 48 degree temps!! I will hang on to every moment that I do not have to wear my jackets. I am not even saddened that they are sitting in my closet un-used. Ok, a little sad but I will get over it. Oh, I have moved into my new Christmas gifts already... have you?? This denim shirt I have been waiting hard for. I knew I was getting it, it was just a matter of not wearing it before Jesus' birthday... that was tough!!

I am also happy to announce that my 6 year old niece loves being my new photographer- MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!! Plus, her rates are cheap... silly faces and the candy bowl are enough to keep on task! Hopefully this photog lasts longer than my other ones... ha!

ALL ABOUT SWEATERS

I am all about cozy over-sized sweaters and I have had my eye on the cream version of this free people sweater, but when I saw this faded black one on clearance at Macy's I knew it had to be mine. Layered Black, duh! Anyways I love the wide slouchy feel of it and you know I can't resist a bell- so a bell sleeve, der, I didn't think twice. Jk jk jk I did hesitate when they rejected my coupon, but then I caved and bought it anyhow. Go buy it quick before they are gone!

Les Misérables

Going to the theater I always feel a little anxious. I always romanticize it to be more proper than it has become. I want it to be the place where people wear their best furs and opera coats heels! When I arrive the judgmental me comes out and I cringe when I see pleated khakis and northface jackets. What happened to dressing up? Are times REALLY that tough?? However, I was delighted to see a young woman wearing somewhat of a fascinator on her hat. She vanished into the crowd to quickly to ask for her photo. A fascinator? really? And I thought I was overdressed...! I did wear my fur jacket and I got many sideways glances- pretty sure people thought I nuts (I am, but shhhhh). So anyways the show was breathtaking (obviously!) and I want to go again (obviously!) and I will wear my fur to the show (obviously!)

ps sorry my outlet is in the background, we aren't too fussy around here :)

PRIMA BALLERINA

My husband took me to The Nashville Ballet's 'The Nutcracker' last weekend.
Wearing a ballerina skirt is a must, right?!

COFFEE LUNCH DATE

Coffee at Crema and Grilled Cheese lunch date with Jude and my good friend Amanda.
A popular thing here in Nashville lately is food trucks, my favorite being The Grilled Cheeserie. They just happened to be at our favorite coffee shop (Crema) on Friday, so I had to of course make a quick lunch date.

EAGLE'S LAKE

Walking around the lake with my boys before we are forced to hibernate.  It is one of the few days where a coat wasn't required. I am seriously loving the 70's vibe that this outfit gives off, now if only I didn't look ridiculous with a center part!

CHANNELING KATE MOSS

Oh, sometimes my endless Kate Moss google searches turn up in my favor. My favorite one is Kate Moss in Minnetonka Moccasins, nobody wheres them better! I have actually owned these ones for some time but I don't break them out often. Liz, is the one who talked me out of selling them, I am so glad she did because I think I may break them in this winter finally! It wouldn't be a complete Moss look without a blazer. This one I got at a secondhand store with the original Club Monaco tags still in tact. You can never own too many different Blazers!!

IT FEELS LIKE WINTER

A chilly day here in Nashville. We had snow/rain this morning and by this afternoon the sun came out full force. Hunter's have been my staple boot choice for the past week, so I was happy to get into moccasins and take an outfit picture today.

BLACK & GREY

This weekend, we went to see Santa at the mall. Simple is always better when chasing after a toddler. Just a little black, grey, and brown. Of course Jude's outfit is always better than mine.

FAMILY PHOTOSHOOTS

Just realized we only posted these on our FB page. We just put together some ideas for how to coordinate the family come picture time. It is great to coordinate, but don't get too carried away. Try to use each person's individual style so it shows the true them.

RIDING BOOTS

I like things that aren't too complicated and when you put them on not much thought goes into it. That is why I like simple boots. They just ad to any outfit without putting any thought into it. I love the riding look, it must be my inner prep coming out.

COZY DAYS AHEAD

Getting ready for days to come by thinking knits. I am loving the whimsical views of winter... for now.... until reality hits that is. Then, I will bunker down and get all Paul Bunyon on you.  Now where did I put my ox?

THE MOTO JEAN

It has been gloomy lately and slowly getting cooler out, and I refuse to resort to my winter jacket just yet. I also have been committing to sweaters left and right. This could be a beautiful new relationship. It could also be one of those short-lived ones, too. Still in love with fur right this second. I love pieces that you can add to any outfit and it makes it 10 times cuter and this fur is just that! I say dig through those secondhand racks and find yourself a cheap one!

THE CRANBERRIES

I was feeling a bit festive. No, I am not referring to the fact that I am dressed like the cranberries, that came out of a can that my ma served, I am talkin about my holiday pants! You heard me! My holiday pants! These pants (that are borderline drop-crotch) only come out on special days. So far that has meant Easter and Thanksgiving. If they are lucky I may wear them for Martin Luther King day, too! It seems I have no other need for them, since after 9 months of owning these had-to-have-it-so-I-splurged-because-I-was-in-NYC-and-that's-what-you-do-pants I have worn them, YEP, those 2 whopping times! I am certain that I will get my use out of them after 20 years of owning them  now that I have introduced them to my fur stole. So, I guess, I am thankful that I may like these pleated khakis (that give me hips) after all!

THE BEST DAYS FOR LAYERS

It's been a rainy week so I decided to do shorts with leggings so that I can actually wear my favorite knit shorts. Such a great way to wear shorts through fall and winter. My favorite fall purchase so far has been my vegan leather Free People jacket - I wear it almost every day!

SNOW

Good grief it snowed and I am not wearing Uggs. GASP! I know, I know I do like Uggs but man alive they were out in full force this weekend... me I opted for my fur instead. Uggs and fur do not look right, that just makes me look like the abominable snowman, and, well, no one should have to see that!

CAMEL+NAVY

One of my favorite color combos lately. I know it was big early this fall, but I was a little late joining in. So clean and simple and most of us have pieces in our closet these colors! This is one of the Stylemint shirts that I bought with my winnings. It is the Prince T. It is the perfect basic tee and is super comfy. You know I love a pair good flares and these are so lightweight it should be a sin. I love denim that feels like jammies!!

HOE DOWN

I have a benefit to attend this Sunday, and it is a fun family friendly Hoe Down theme. I am not much for cowboy boots but I am really starting to wish that I had a pair all of a sudden. Everyone seems to automatically go for plaids so I am thinking something a little different! If you guys have any suggestions  I would love to hear them!
