THE PARK

The result of a windy weekend. Sadly the background colors won't be sticking around for very long. Little man didn't want to stick around for too long once he saw the play set off in the distance. He was certainly glad to escape my grasp and head over to the swings. Thankfully it wasn't crowded due to the chilly temperatures, I always have more fun with my kids when other people aren't around, I think it is because I am not busy hoovering (Yeah I am on of THOSE moms...)

CROPPED JACKET

I am  loving cropped jackets and right now. If they have lace or sequins forget it I am sold immediately. This one I have had in my closet for a long time and it took me a few months to work it into my daily outfits and now it is an easy grab. 

The striped are still seeping their way into my wardrobe and this one is such a steal from STYLEMINT you can find it here. I love how soft it is and they are such a great fit! I love when shirts are easy to piece together and you don't have to think much about it.

WAYZATA BAY

 Elizabeth used to work in downtown Wayzata so it was a must that we make it out there one day. We actually go there often because we love how peaceful it is. Most people would think that we went for the shopping (which we did manage to squeeze in), but mostly we went for the lake. You may not know it but these little kids rule our lives and they love to run and play! It is no wonder that our posts are few and far between! It was great fun. Liz's son Jude was in a trance as if he had never played with sand before haha. And my boys took to their normal routine of throwing rocks into the water. We ended up just having a super chill day and we all went home happy despite the fact that we bought nothing. We tried to get a photo of us all but it was no use trying to coral everyone when they were perfectly content where they were... seeing this I sure regret not having that photo of everyone together :(

WELL LAYERED

We really loved being in the same city we are just the kind of friends that don't take anything too serious, and laugh at pretty much anything (which is mostly Shaynah being a dork and Liz calling her out on it.) We are always drooling over magazine editorials together and it is funny that we both like the same things but have a different take on what part we find interesting. I guess you can see that in the way our styles work together.
This particular day was inspired by our love for Minnetonka Moccasins and Free People lookbooks and our OBSESSION (including intense google searches) of MK&A Olsen and their wonderful world of layers and oversized sweaters and eccentric beauty.

PLAIDS AND STRIPES

 We don't usually go too crazy when it comes to patterns. We like things that are realistic (and things that layer easily, DUH!) Stripes and plaids are an easy fit into your wardrobe. Of course we love our good share of layering, but we tend to go for things that aren't fussy and that are realistic for chasing after a toddler. Another bonus to these subtle patterns is that people don't usually notice if you over-wear them which makes them great for many outfits.

WHAT'S BETTER THAN FALL LEAVES?

I think any native Minnesotan would agree that there is nothing like a Minnesota fall! No beauty compares. The leaves are perfect. This day we decided to do a little vintage shopping with the two littlest Layered Black members. And of course they do Layered Black better than their mommies do, right?

BETTER WHEN WE'RE TOGETHER

Yep, this week went exactly how we thought it would. Lot's of shopping, laughing and our kids looked better than us. Typical. Oddly, when we dressed for the day our outfits seemed to always work well together! We can't figure out how bloggers take so many photos, we had best intentions of taking more candid pics throughout the day but we always got too busy. I guess that is why they all convince their boyfriends to be the photographer. However, we did manage to try and get some shots together, but due to our awkward posing we laughed more than we "seduced" the camera. It is just proof that we are still silly girls at heart! Oh hey don't you casually throw your arm on your friend's back? I knoooow ya do!
